RUNNERS from all over Bolton and further afield made Burnden Road Runners' annual five-mile race a huge success last Sunday when they smashed the event's entry record.
A total of 342 – double the number who took part when it was first held in 2011 and 31 more than the previous record set two years ago – took to the roads and countryside around Smithills as the Trotters 5 continued to establish itself on the local running calendar.
And here we feature a special picture round-up of the event which looks set to be a part of Bolton's running race scene for years come along with many more you can find listed months in advance in our new race diary on the athletics page every Thursday.
