BOLTON Hot Wheels Cycling Club is celebrating success in competitions and bike rides.

Recently, there was a Go-Ride Cyclocross event at Queens Park and 23 riders took part in total with Bolton's Go-Ride coach Phil Ball putting the kids through their paces.

A spokesman said: "They all took part some coaching and races before taking to the podium for the prize presentation."

Among the winners were Elliott Pitlovits (under-8s), Neve Laycock (u10s), Sam Slater (u12s) and Ethan Grimshaw (u14s).

The club also had strong representation at the Horwich Humdinger Cyclocross race at Leverhulme Park.

It proved to be a family affair too as some new parents had a go too with a total of seven parents racing.

That included the Porter family where Andy, Kate, Dan and Grace were in action.

U14s rider Melissa Boylin took part in the Tickhill Grand Prix road race that day.

The club has also enjoyed success with their youngsters in the North West Youth League which is a road circuit series.

Overall Boylin is placed first u14s girl, Ben Peatfield is top in the u12s boys category while Isaac Peatfield is currently second U14s boy while Felix Cuerden is in a podium place for the u8s boys event.

Elsewhere, Ethan Grimshaw took part in a Cyclocross race at the NEC, Birmingham as part of the Cycle Show and came third.
