DUNSCAR and Turton eased their way through the Jack Taylor quarter finals last weekend when they beat Great Lever and Hart Common respectively to reach the semi-finals, both with a 3½-1½ winning scoreline.

Meanwhile, Bolton also produced a 3½-1½ home win against Breightmet while Harwood grabbed a significant 4–1 away result at Hindley Hall to settle their place in the semi-finals.

Bolton will meet Dunscar away and will be anxious to reach a final place having claimed their last trophy success in 2005.

However, Dunscar are always worth a bet when they reach the finals having notched up 10 Jack Taylor championships in the last five decades – more recently in 2011 and 2013.

Team captain, Ian Bond, said: “We are ready for the semis and have high hopes to reach the final though we have to consider that the foursomes format often throw-up some surprising results. Nothing is a certainty!”

Turton are the reigning 2014 Jack Taylor champions having beaten Hindley Hall last year and now meet Harwood in the semis.

Harwood have the home draw and will be looking to gain any possible advantage against the champions.

This is a difficult match to site as both teams have shown a great deal of tenacity both in the Jack Taylor competition and the BGA League.

Turton team captain, Billy Dempsey, said: “Harwood are always a hard nut to crack but we are ready and would love to get into the final.”

Semi-final draw: Harwood v Turton and Dunscar v Bolton.

(To be played by 15th November)
