SIMON Dally continued his impressive season with an eighth-place finish at the Preston 10-Mile race.
He clocked 58mins 31secs after a fast finish but was unable to catch former Olympian Helen Clitheroe who was 13 seconds in front.
He claimed third place amid tough competition in the M45 age-group, in which he was recently crowned champion in the Central Lancashire Grand Prix.
Cherry Collison ran 1:20:07 for 215th place in the 416 field.
She will be on more familiar and favoured terrain on Saturday when Bolton host the third round of the Red Rose Cross Country at Leverhulme Park.
