FIFTEEN-year-old Chris Sixsmith, a junior member of Westhoughton Golf Club, got his first ever hole-in-one during the club’s Hatton Cup competition.
He claimed his triumph on the 167-yard par-three 10th hole, achieving a feat many golfers try for years to do and never manage.
When he took up the game at 13, the club gave him a handicap of 25 which he has rapidly got down to 11.
A great deal is owed to his granddad, David Moores, who has collected Chris every night after school to take him to the golf course.
Chris has recently completed his schooling at St Joseph School and in September will enrol at Myerscough College to further his studies in golf techniques and business.
