MIDDLESBROUGH hosted the outdoor Northern Athletics Track and Field Championships last weekend, with Bolton United Harriers represented in each of the three age groups.

Taiwo Taiwo collected 200m silver with 25.97secs after breezing through her under-15s' heat in a winning time of 26.20. Brother Kehinde Taiwo clocked 25.68 for fourth in his race over the same distance.

Georgia Lever’s 5.39m leap was fourth in a very close under-17s' long jump – only 7cm separated the top four.

Julia Winogrodzka continued her fine form with 14.33 for ninth in the 100m after clocking 14.18 for a personal best in her heat.

She then broke the under-13s' club record in the shot put with 7.35m for fifth.

There was also a deserved bronze medal in the long jump with 4.71m – a remarkable for an 11-year-old.

Elsewhere, two Blue Vests competed at the BMC Gold Standard Race in the 800m at Stretford.

Tom Lancashire clocked 1min 48.99secs for second in the A race, whilst under-23 Jonothan Kay clocked 1:53.82 for second in the C race, though his time was quicker than all athletes in the B race.
