GREAT Lever Taskers and Queen Anne progressed to round three of the Lancashire FA Sunday Football Trophy on Saturday as the Bolton at Home Sunday League was left with two representatives in the competition.

Great Lever travelled to play Preston Sunday League side Gregson Lane and came away with an excellent 7-2 victory.

They scored their first goal inside five minutes through Arron McCarthy who chipped the keeper from the edge of the box, before two more goals from Jason Perry and Kristian Preston gave them a 3-0 half-time lead.

The second half started with Jordan Hibbert increasing the lead before man-of-the-match McCarthy netted two more goals to complete his hat-trick.

Gregson Lane managed to pull a consolation goal back before Hibbert bagged his second to restore the six-goal cushion. The host scored again in stoppage time.

Queen Anne travelled to face Blackburn Sunday League side Stanhill FC and they recorded an excellent 5-1 victory.

They scored two quick goals through Gaz Cunniff and Mark Truffers, then Just before half time Nial Callaghan scored another to send Queen Anne in 3-0 up.

In the second half, Stanhill scored early to make it 3-1 however this only spurred Queen Anne on and two more goals by Truffers and Callaghan finished off a dominant performance by Dean Walmsley’s men.

There were two casualties in the second round with Hulton Wanderers losing 6-1 to Blackpool side Broomheads Estate FC, despite leading 1-0 at half time through a Paul Lomax Penalty.

Dehaviland FC were the only Bolton team to be drawn at home but slipped to a 3-1 loss.

There were only two league matches in Division One and leaders Astley Bridge Elite kept up their fine form with an excellent 7-3 victory at Bradford Arms A.

It was a tight affair and the teams went in level at 3-3 at half time with goals from Darren Smethurst (two) and Curtis Monson for the Bridge side and Liam Ashworth, Dominic Sharples and Christian Richards for Bradford Arms.

In the second half Astley Bridge stepped up the pace and scored four more goals – two from Smethurst and one each for Monson and Layton Migas.

The other game in the top division saw Farnworth United secure a 3-2 victory in a tight game against Top Club FC.

Two goals from Gaz Bentley and one from Mac Farrington for the Farnworth side sealed victory with Lewis Porter and Sam Kelly replying for Top Club.

In Division Two, the match of the day was at Ladybridge where Deane FC took on Manny Road.

Manny Road got off to a fine start and went in at half time with a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Lee Hemmings and Xavier Close (two) with Carl Dumbarton replying for Deane.

However, Deane came out at the start of the second half and netted further goals through Stuart Moss, Yazz Smajic and two more from Dumbarton to complete yet another hat-trick as Deane ran out 5-3 winners.

Elsewhere, goals from Pennington, Dorken and Arkwright saw FC Westhoughton win 3-0 at Atherton Villa, while Lostock FC drew 2-2 with Church Reds, Leon Smith and Dave Haraswick netting for Lostock and Aiden Hilton and Tommy Coleman scoring for Church.

New Bury beat Deane Wanderers 7-2 thanks to goals from Craig Slone (two), Charlie Scholes (two), Brent Haliwell (two) and Ash Haslam, Chris McCoughrie scoring both Deane goals.
