OFF TO SPAIN: Liz McLellan with Bolton Tri Club chairman Stuart Carter after the Oulton Park event
BURNDEN’S Liz McLellan has qualified for Great Britain in her age group and is set to compete in the European Sprint Duathlon Championships in Spain next April.
She earned her place with a superb performance at the Oulton Park Autumn Duathlon on October 2, coming sixth in the F45-49 category.
McLellan put in a consistent effort throughout the event. Her first 4.3k was completed in 17mins 20secs and her run to finish off was 17:29. In between, she powered around the 21.6k bike course in 40:28 to post a total of 1:18:44.
