BOLTON Old Links Golf Club celebrated a successful junior season at their annual presentation evening.
Club Captain Keith Mullen handed out 30 trophies to the winners of the 18-hole and nine-hole competitions that are run throughout the playing season.
Oliver Chadwick was named junior captain for next year, taking over from Ryan Hamer who, in the club’s 125th anniversary year, successfully captained the juniors to victory in the Manchester and District Golf Alliance Williams BMW Junior Challenge Trophy, a year after they had been runners-up in the same competition.
Old Links has a tradition of providing representatives for the Lancashire team and Jack Bryan will be in the Lancashire junior squad in 2017 after an impressive season.
Young boys and girls up to the age of 17 play free of charge at the club and, together with other members, have the use of a state-of-the-art indoor practice swing and course simulator, supported by expert tuition from the club's professional Sean Owen.
