YOUNG Bolton boxer Osman Aslam steps back in the ring tonight looking to extend his 100 per cent winning professional run to nine bouts.

The Halliwell super bantamweight, who turns 23 later this month, has won all eight pro outings to date – the last an impressive second round knockout triumph against Polish fighter Kamil Jaworek at Manchester's Bowler's Exhibition Centre in November.

Now Aslam, who is coached by Asif Vali – the man who is back working with Amir Khan – heads into what he hopes will be his last eight-round contest back at Bowlers before he makes another step up.

The ultimate aim for the boxer, who is trained by Elite Gym coach Alex Matvienko, is to fight for a title in 2017.

Aslam told The Bolton News: "I've had a great long training camp of almost seven weeks.

"I'm in the best shape of my life and cannot wait for the fight.

"I want to thank everyone for the support as the challenges are going to increase as time goes on.

"I want to thank my manager Asif Vali, who does so much for me it's crazy, my head coach Alex Matvienko, who lays the game plan and has taken my abilities to another level, and also my strength coach Tom McNeil, who is amazing at what he does."
