AFTER making history to become the first woman from Lancashire to be elected as President of Bowls England, Viv Tomlinson she brought her 'new' team to play in her home club.
Mrs Tomlinson, is holding the office of president for the 2017 season and this week her Bowls England team to play at Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club at Leverhulme Park.
Honorary President of Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club, Ken Hayes, said: "The threatened downpour had the good manners to wait until we had finished, so the match took place under sunny skies.
"The result is not of major importance on these occasions, but I believe Bolton Flat Green Bowling Club won overall, current England under 25 international Dominic McVittie, our youngest member was given a lesson on how the game should be played by fifteen times World Champion Tony Alcock, who came away with the best winning rink for the Presidential Team.
"We wish Viv the best for the remainder of her Presidential Year."
