ROB Short was the first Burnden member to finish at the Ribble Valley 10K in Clitheroe on New Year’s Eve.
Short and Colin Rigby both completed the course in under 40 minutes. Short recorded a time of 37mins 42secs and Rigby was close behind in 38:21.
Paula Pilling was Burnden’s first female athlete to finish in 41:50 ahead of Jackie Oakes, in 47:01, and Lucille Corrigan, in 47:37. Izzy Pollitt was second F50 in 45:37.
Other results: Marcus Taylor (40:19), Ed Ashton (40:24), Martyn Pollitt (41:05), Paul Drew (48:34), Neil Critchley (50:36), Dawn Evans (1:08:15), Ann Hardman (1:18:38).
Oakes finished 18th overall and first F45 in the Christmas Eve Lancaster Cracker 10K, while on Boxing Day Ged Turner and Corrigan headed to the Leyland 10K. Turner crossed the line in 46:35 and Corrigan in 47:50.
