BOLTON men's first team need just three points from five games to win North West League Division Four North.

A 4-2 victory at Keswick 2nds maintained their remarkable one hundred per cent winning record of 17 league matches.

Keswick took the lead with a breakaway goal which sparked Bolton into action and they levelled when Joel Reiss injected a penalty corner which Carl Philbin stopped, Sam Dawsey passed to Damien Pearse who switched the ball to Reiss at the back post to coolly slot home.

Attacking relentlessly, Bolton went ahead when Philbin dissected the defence with a pass to the sprinting Pearse who easily beat the keeper.

In complete control and going forward in wave after wave of attacks in the second half and with Si Coles solid in the tackle and distributing well and Marcus Starr attacking from right back, Bolton were in full flow.

They went 3-1 ahead when Pearse scored a superb solo goal, beating three players and slamming home.

Keswick halved the arrears when Bolton switched off, and after some harsh words from coach Sean McGovern Bolton got back on their game.

Reiss killed off the side in fifth with the fourth goal when he drove into the D and from nowhere beat two players and fired a thunderous shot into the far side netting.

Bolton are at home to Chorley and Leyland at Harper Green this weekend when it is possible they could win the league.

Bolton Ladies 1st team are seventh in North Division Two South West after losing 2-0 at fourth-placed Wrexham Glyndwr Ladies 1sts despite a valiant team effort which restricted the home side to the two chances they converted.
