BOLTON professional boxers Jack Cullen and Jack Flatley are both looking ahead to bigger things after their bouts on tonight’s bill at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.

Farnworth’s 23-year-old Flatley is aiming to extend his record of 10 wins and no defeats against Anthony Fox whom he has already beaten as a pro.

Little Lever’s Cullen, aged 24, will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing his last fight in mitigating circumstances in a prize fighter event in Dublin when he had hardly any time to rest between the semi-final and final.

It blotted his 100-per-cent winning record of 11 straight wins which he expects to extend to 12 against Harry Matthews from York tonight.

“He’s bigger than me and goes the distance so I’ll have to deal with that,” he said.

“After that I’m topping the bill at the Macron on June 16. That’ll be an eight-rounder or 10-rounder and will be for something.

“You never think you’re going to lose a fight and I’m expecting to win on Saturday and keep moving up and up.

“The defeat in my last fight hasn’t been on my mind at all. I won two fights and didn’t get long to rest before the third fight of the night where the guy who beat me did.

“I’ve just got to out on Saturday and show everyone I’m a good fighter and that’s what I’ll do.

“Everything’s spot on with my preparation and I’m feeling really good.”

Flatley beat Fox early last year in his seventh pro fight and cannot wait to get back in the ring after almost six months out.

“It’s been frustrating not fighting,” he said. “I had a fight scheduled and then a bigger one came up but then that was called off.

“I’m fighting May, June and July and I’m on the Tyson Fury bill which will be massive, I can’t wait.

“I just want to get in the ring now. I feel the best I’ve ever been. I’ve been sparring and I’ve been fit for two months, now I just want to fight.”
