THIS week's delve into The Bolton News picture archives has unearthed this photograph of Atherton CC's second XI from September 2000.
The caption accompanying the picture says the team ended a successful season as champions of the Bolton and District Cricket Association Second XI League, the Hardcastle Shield.

OUR second picture was published in last week's sporting nostalgia section and featured the Bradshaw CC team from June 1989.
Neil Johnson spotted himself on the picture and provided the names in that side, with the help of Bolton Cricket League secretary Ray Taylor for the overseas player's name.
He said: "Back row, from left, Brian Cole, Dave Senior, me, overseas player David Hay, Tom Baldwin, Nigel Young (pro), Ian Moss; front, David Morris, Stuart Adams, Chris Isherwood and David Morris Jnr."
