Leigh Centurions head to Sheffield on Sunday hoping to make a flying start to their league campaign and clip the Eagles wings in the process.
Last season the Centurions completed a league double over the South Yorkshire side, pulling off a 24-18 win at Don Valley before a more comfortable 42-22 home victory at Hilton Park.
But coach Neil Kelly expects a tough test.
“Sheffield had a very good win against Toulouse last week, so we’ll not be taking them lightly,” he said.
“They will be a really tough ask for us this weekend. They do have an overseas contingent including a Papua New Guinea international but also the better known players like Johnny Woodcock, Matty Brooks and Brendon Lindsay that can create a threat.
“We’ve got to capture all those players and meet the physical threat they offer as well. They are generally quite physical up the middle as well.
“They are a danger in this division with a good squad and will be hard to beat on their own ground.”
