GB must improve, says Christiansen

GB ICE HOCKEY: Great Britain assistant coach Doug Christiansen says the national side need to improve during the rest of the tournament if they are to achieve their goals.

GB have lost their two opening games to last year's relegated teams Slovenia (3-2) and Austria (7-3), but can still claim at least a bronze medal.

"Anytime you fall down 3-0 its going to be a tough way back but Austria is a better team than us," Christiansen said.

"When you mistakes, we had a bad change, a couple too many offensive-zone penalties, it's going to cost you over the course of the game.

"The truth of the matter is we didn't play as well as we could have and we have to improve over the course of the week to achieve our goals."

GB are next in action on Wednesday against Ukraine and round off the tournament with matches against Japan (Thursday) and Hungary (Saturday).
