WANDERERS are digging their heels in as West London rivals QPR and Fulham look to lure Tim Ream away from the Macron Stadium.

The club has already rebuffed three bids from Loftus Road and it is understood a fourth bid was made last night with the Whites believed to be demanding in excess of £2million for the US international.

Neil Lennon has sent a clear message to say he does not want to sell the defender and is under no pressure to do so. But things could now be about to hot up after QPR’s neighbours Fulham also submitted a bid, whcih was also dismissed by the Whites.

Craven Cottage boss Kit Symons has cash to spend and has been chasing Brighton’s £4million-rated Lewis Dunk without success so far this summer.

The Cottagers have had three offers turned down to date, and are now looking at other defensive options that may be available.

Neil Lennon has said he is in no mood to lose Ream, who has won the club’s player of the year award for two consecutive seasons.

The 27-year-old, signed for £2.3million from New York Red Bulls in 2012, is currently sidelined with a dead leg and not expected to return to action for another fortnight.

Meanwhile, Wanderers legend Jussi Jaaskelainen has signed for Wigan Athletic.

The Big Finn has signed a one-year deal following his released from West Ham United, and a summer in which a return to Bolton had been heavily mooted.

Jaaskelainen had trained with Bradford City in the last few weeks and also had offers on the table from Middlesbrough and Wolves.

But the 40-year-old, who made more than 500 appearances for Wanderers in a 15-year career with the club, was looking to stay closer to his Bolton home and also wanted some guarantees of first-team football.

“Jussi has had a tremendous career and was consistently one of the top keepers in the Premier League,” said Gary Caldwell. “He is still in fantastic condition and as well as providing great competition in the squad, his experience will be invaluable on and off the park.”

Jaaskelainen’s arrival is also thought to spell the end of Wigan’s interest in Chris Kirkland, who had also trained with Wanderers this summer.

Lennon remains on the lookout for a back-up keeper to Ben Amos but it is understood that Wanderers made no attempt to bring Jaaskelainen back this summer in either a playing or a coaching capacity.
