CHRIS Taylor could be reunited with Oldham Athletic if Wanderers’ space saving exercise fails in the next few days.

The Latics made tentative enquires last week about loaning back their former playmaker as John Sheridan seeks to add some creativity to his team.

Phil Parkinson is convinced he can get the best out of Taylor, who has struggled since arriving at the Macron from Blackburn Rovers in the summer.

But as the manager and chairman Ken Anderson look for ways to clear space for new signings in the squad, they could be tempted into accepting Oldham’s offer.

Taylor played close to 300 games for his hometown side before moving on to Millwall in 2012 and scored 11 goals in his final season at Boundary Park.

His time at Wanderers has not gone according to plan, however, and despite being named in Parkinson’s first competitive line-up against Sheffield United in August, he has started just two more league games since.

He was involved in a flare-up with travelling fans at Rochdale during the club’s dip in form in September last year and has since struggled to win over the mainstay of support.

Parkinson remains adamant Taylor can still make a success of his time at Bolton but has been able to offer him only cameos from the bench. His last start came in November.
