ADAM Le Fondre will give Bolton Wanderers first refusal on his services next season.

Out of contract at Cardiff City and likely to be in high demand after reviving his career at the Macron Stadium, the striker is able to make no promises at this moment in time.

But Wanderers are keen to talk – and the 30-year-old has made no secret of his desire to sign a permanent deal after two successful loan stays.

“I came back here to get a promotion medal and to score goals – both of those have been done now, so it’s on to the next challenge,” he told The Bolton News.

“This club gave me a platform, again, to show what I can do and I can’t tell you how much it means to me to be able to say I’m back again.

“The last 18 months have been horrible. I didn’t play enough, I didn’t score enough, I made bad decisions. But it led back to here at Bolton.

“This is my spiritual home, I think. Things fit perfectly.

“If something can be done here, I’d stay in a heartbeat.”

After failing to score in his first seven games, Le Fondre shook-off the ring rust to score six in his next 12 to help see Wanderers over the line to promotion.

The striker now feels he has a point to prove in the Championship after a lean spell at Cardiff and two fruitless loans at Wolves and Wigan Athletic.

“Since I was five years old, all I have done is score goals,” he said. “It’s all I want to do.

“There’s no question if I get the opportunity I can do that in the Championship, but I need the opportunity. I need games.

“You saw from the start I had here at Bolton, it took me longer than I expected to get fully fit and back to the player I know I can be.

“The great thing about Bolton is the fans love me, so I don’t have to prove anything. That gave me a little bit of breathing room and the performances come off the back of that.

“I’ve really enjoyed both times I’ve been here and I think I’ve reaped the rewards – it’s revitalised me.”

Wanderers fans are reminded they have until Thursday to pre-order the club’s official promotion-winning book and have their name printed on a special roll of honour.

The book is priced at £14.99 and is available through the club’s website.
