NIGERIAN striker Chinedu Obasi will be given another chance to earn a deal at Wanderers when he turns out for the development squad at Crewe tonight.

The 31-year-old, who scored in his first appearance against Burnley last week, is on the lookout for a new club after leaving Swedish side AIK.

Signed for more than £8million during the course of his career, spent largely in Germany with the likes of Schalke and Hoffenheim, the striker is said to want a deal until the end of the season at Wanderers.

Obasi, who has also played in Norway and China and trialled with Sunderland in 2015, will feature for David Lee’s side at the Alexandra Stadium as they look to consolidate their position at the top of the Professional Development League North table.

Wanderers added free agent Jan Kirchhoff to their ranks last week and the German midfielder could also be used at Crewe to improve his match fitness.

It is understood Bolton were also looking to bring in Austrian striker Rubin Okotie for a trial last week.

The 30-year-old recently left Chinese Super League side Beijing Enterprises after failing to agree a new contract but has now opted to sign a deal with Belgian side Germinal Beerschot.
