KEVIN Davies and Matt Taylor have been told they must soon start delivering the goods in front of goal again.

The pair — who shared 22 goals between them for the Whites last season — have not hit the target for Wanderers since April.

Both players officially signed new deals this week, and Gary Megson has challenged them to reward the club’s loyalty by bouncing back to form against Hull City at the KC Stadium this weekend.

“The fact they have both signed new deals is great news for the club,” said the Whites boss. “And I’m looking forward to them getting back to what they were doing right the way through last season, up to the last eight or nine games.

“We need them to start picking up again and scoring more goals.”

Taylor’s last strike was against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a little over four months ago, while Davies’s drought extends a week longer to the 4-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Reebok.

Megson sees no rationale for the pair’s dip in form but has backed them both to come good.
