ENGLAND have been warned to watch out for in-form Ivan Klasnic when they cross paths at Wembley tomorrow night.

The Croatian hitman arrived at the Reebok last week having netted four goals in his first five games of the season for Nantes in the French second division.

Whites assistant manager Chris Evans believes the former Werder Bremen striker is ready to make a significant impact on the Premier League when he returns from international duty.

And with England looking for the victory that would seal their place in next summer’s World Cup finals — the Welshman has advised Fabio Capello to pay close attention.

“He scored against Brest last Monday night and is in a rich vein of form in front of goal,” Evans said.

“He’s gone away on international duty now and should be involved against England at some stage. Hopefully, he’ll start scoring again for Bolton Wanderers after that game.

“He has a great goalscoring record at the very highest level, and that’s why we worked so hard to bring him to this football club.”

Croatia are hoping to keep their chances of automatic qualification alive with victory at Wembley after struggling to beat Belarus 1-0 on Saturday night.

Klasnic was an unused substitute on that occasion; although Slaven Bilic has hinted that he may shuffle his squad in a bid to expose the “weaknesses” he claims to have found in England’s make-up.

If he does play, the 29-year-old will wear a protective band on his back to protect his kidneys, following two lifesaving transplants in 2007.

Evans hopes that Klasnic will be able to make his Wanderers bow against Portsmouth this weekend, and that his arrival can spark a turnaround in fortunes following three successive league defeats.

“We hope he’ll hit the ground running,” he said. “And that he can score the goals that in my opinion would be just reward for some of our displays this season.

“Time will tell whether he is the right man but we are working off his goalscoring record at the very top level and hoping he can bring those habits to Bolton Wanderers.”

Gary Cahill will be hoping to at least keep his place among the substitutes after watching Saturday’s 2-1 friendly victory over Slovenia from the bench.

The Wanderers defender is yet to win his first cap, although with John Terry, Matthew Upson and Joleon Lescott fit, he is unlikely to start the game.
