Bolton Wanderers clinch deal for Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter
WANDERERS are have agreed a deal with Millwall midfielder Liam Trotter today, The Bolton News understands.
The 25-year-old former Ipswich trainee is out of contract at The Den in the summer but it is believed Whites boss Dougie Freedman has got his man on loan with a view to him joining permanently at the end of the season for a nominal fee.
Trotter spent three years at Millwall and been a regular in the engine room, having an eye for goal as well.
And while Freedman was unsure yeaterday whether anything would happen, it is now sealed.
Lions boss Ian Holloway was unimpressed with the link to Bolton yesterday and said: "I'm not very happy with Bolton at the moment, to say the least.
"I don't have a cat in hell's chance of keeping Liam because a club like Bolton will be able to offer him a big contract and I can't compete with that."
Freedman said at his Thursday press conference: "He's a player his agent has been pushing on me and a good player."
If the paperwork goes through today and the club confirm his arrival, Trotter will be eligible to face his hometown club Ipswich for Wanderers tomorrow.
