EX-Wanderers winger Chris Eagles is believed to be in talks with Championship basement dwellers Blackpool.

The 28-year-old, who left the Macron Stadium in the summer, remains a free agent and has been training with the Tangerines alongside a number of other out-of-contract players as new boss Lee Clark looks to bolster his Bloomfield Road squad.

Former Manchester United man Eagles has also been linked with Millwall this season but has reportedly rejected an offer to move to The Den.

He left Wanderers at the end of his contract after a difficult final season.

In three years with the Whites, Eagles scored 19 goals in 106 games – 12 of which came in 2012/13 when he ended the campaign as the club's top scorer.

Initially earmarked by Dougie Freedman as a player he wanted to build his team around on the Scot's arrival in October 2012, Eagles fell out of favour last season.

He made just 18 appearances – the last of which came in February in a 1-1 draw at Millwall.
