Coyle did get chatting about wingers, and having options in his midfield. That seemed at the time to point to Petrov/Chungy coming back into the frame, but with Petrov injured, who knows???

Something that I completely forgot to flag up this week is the fact that Danny Shittu should be anchoring the Millwall defence this afternoon.

A genuinely lovely fella, who didn't make the Premier League grade.

Totally agree (about the long ball part). Seemed to play into Leeds' hands and we're a better team than that.
Even though Owen has rubbed a few people up the wrong way with his comments this week, I agree totally on one thing: the football has been better in general since the Hull defeat. The problem is that one mistake/decision seems to cause more problems than it should...

I think that, in general, the team looks nervous. That manifests itself in different ways around the pitch. The only way you change that is by winning games...

My personal view is that I'd like to see Joe Riley given a go, and Sam Ricketts back in the team. But if this is the back four Owen Coyle has settled for, then they have to stick to the simple stuff. The 40-yard passes from Mills/Knight more often surrender possession.

On Thursday, Owen Coyle reckoned he would be without Marcos Alonso and David Ngog, and on Friday he revealed that Martin Petrov was struggling with a back injury. Where does that put us?
