MARC Tierney has promised Wanderers fans there is more to come after a promising start to his Reebok career.

The marauding full-back enjoyed solid outings against Burnley and Shrewsbury before creating a goal for Darren Pratley in his home debut, the 1-1 draw with Reading.

And the former Norwich man, pictured, hopes the sight of him bombarding down the wing will be a regular occurrence this season as his team-mates become accustomed to his style.

“It was great to get off the mark on the assist front,” he said. “I like to get forward and we’ve got willing runners to get forward, as Prats (Pratley) showed a couple of times in pre-season.

“It’s all about people linking up, understanding what people want and what their strengths are.

“As a team we want to create goals and if that’s me then so be it. I enjoy defending and stopping crosses but I also enjoy getting forward and worked a lot on my fitness over the summer to enable me to do that. That’s what the manager wants – attacking full-backs, but full-backs first and foremost.”

Tierney has been paired with Chung-Yong Lee on the left since Chris Eagles was injured and he believes his relationship with the Korean is also improving.

“All over the pitch we are starting to get an understanding of when I am overlapping or when I need to tuck in and let Chungy do his thing,” he told Wanderers’ YouTube channel. “It’s starting to come to fruition.”
