FRUSTRATED Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman believes another two points slipped through his side’s grasp against Derby last night.

Even though the 2-2 draw at the Reebok was largely regarded as the club’s best 90 minutes of the season so far – the manager was far from elated after the final whistle.

Alex Baptiste and Chris Eagles scored either side of Johnny Russell’s double strike in the first half but Wanderers’ failure to go on and win the game did not sit well with the Scot.

“It was a better performance but we have got to be winning games like that. We didn’t show enough to win a game of football,” he said.

“Our possession play was excellent; we had a lot of the ball. But we have got to be winning games like that.

“That is not to suggest we can’t, it is just that results are not going our way right now. “It was a spirited performance. It was a good start but then to get two kicks in the teeth I wondered what we were going to do. We had good spirit, kept going, and pegged them back.

“I said to them at half time ‘do you really want to take a draw?’ I wasn’t happy with that.

“But I am not happy in the end because it is a game we should have won.”
