Stuart Holden has been ruled out for between four and six weeks after being injured playing for the USA on Wednesday night.
The midfielder, who made an impressive Premier League debut for Wanderers against Wolves on Saturday, suffered a fractured shin against Holland in Amsterdam.
The 24-year-old sustained the injury in a challenge with Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong.
Holden was taken to hospital immediately where the extent of the injury was diagnosed.
