Wanderers hope to wrap up a double swoop for Real Madrid’s Marcos Alonso and Rodrigo Moreno by the end of this week.

The highly-rated Spanish pair are expected to finalise a season-long loan move to the Reebok, after full back Alonso turned down the chance of joining Portuguese giants Benfica as part of Real’s big-money deal for Argentine ace Angel Di Maria.

The young defender’s arrival could also hasten Jlloyd Samuel’s departure, with Newcastle United currently mulling over a £500,000 move.

Brazil-born striker Moreno boasts an impressive scoring record at junior level for adopted country Spain, but unlike Alonso, has not yet made the leap to senior football at the Bernabeu.

Both teenagers were regulars for Real’s second team, Castilla, last season, and it has been reported that Real want £5million to make the deal permanent, including a buy-back clause.

Wanderers’ last two World Cup representatives went out of the competition at the last 16 stage on Saturday.

Lee Chung-Yong scored South Korea’s goal and played the full 90 minutes of their 2-1 defeat to Uruguay, while Stuart Holden spent the whole 120 minutes on the bench as USA lost 2-1 to Ghana.
