An outstanding nursery in Bromley Cross has celebrated 20 years in business and caring for children.

Staff at Eagley School House Nursery welcomed all the children and families to mark the occasion  - with former pupils attending.

Julie Robinson opened the nursery in 2003, and she has seen over 2,000 children come through the doors.

She said: “I am proud to have nurtured these children throughout my time and I look forward to making a difference to many more children coming through the doors.”

The Bolton News: Those first children who left the cohort have been in touch, with some attending on the day.

Some pupils have gone on to continue further education in English, with one pupil even reaching the Olympics, and playing professional football.

One ex pupil has gone on to study medicine at Cambridge, whilst another bagged a maths scholarship, and another took the French they learned at the nursery to go into languages.

So many other children turned up to tell share stories of where they are now, who are either in the process of further education, or completed their educational journey.

Last year the nursery achieved outstanding in all areas, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management, personal development, and overall effectiveness at previous inspection.

Inspector Shauneen Wainwright said in the report: “Children thrive at this nursery.

“They are completely immersed and captivated by the exciting, individualised curriculum on offer.

“The highly passionate staff team show genuine care and unwavering commitment to every child.

“They have hugely ambitious expectations for all, yet children still achieve beyond these expectations.

“Children are raring to learn.”

Julie also set up Mind Minds Matter UK during Covid in 2021, after realising there was a need to support pre-school aged children, parents, and carers with their wellbeing.

She is keen for anyone to get in touch with any achievements if they previously attended the nursery by emailing myself at jasmine.jackson@newsquest.co.uk.
