The principals of a Bolton theatre academy are set to embark on a new adventure as they open a salon and shop.

Opening at the end of March or the beginning of April, Stacey and Julie Taylor of Taylor’s Theatre Academy will be opening a shop and salon specialising in all hair and beauty needs as well as a dance clothing and shoe shop.

The new shop - The Bees Knees at Taylor’s - will be based below the academy on Crompton Way on SMS retail park.

Excited to get open, Stacey said: “The Bees Knees at Taylor’s is a brand-new salon coming to Crompton Way.

“We aim to be a one-stop shop for all your hair and beauty needs offering sunbeds, spray tans, makeup, haircuts, blows and colours as well as hair extensions.

“We will have nail technicians along with aestheticians. Alongside the salon we will also have a ‘dance clothing and shoe shop’ as-well as pointe shoe fittings.”

Julie is a fully qualified hairdresser, nail technician and holds certificates in spray tanning and makeup.

Stacey said: “This had always been something we have wanted to do, so when the opportunity came along, we jumped on it.

“Especially with it being right underneath our current business ‘Taylors Theatre Academy & College’.

“Once we found out the unit below us was to become available, we knew we had to make our move.

“We have always had the dance shop side of the business, online and in the academy but, now, this gives dance students and families the opportunity to come along for personal fittings.

“We are so excited about opening; we feel this is going to give the retail park a real boost.

“With a large car park at the retail park, and the shops surrounding, it’s going to be a great asset to the area.

“We have over 130 students and parents pass through our academy and college weekly, and it will be the perfect opportunity to drop their children off at dance and treat themselves to a little pamper.

“We can’t wait to get started!”

The duo decided to call their salon and shop 'The Bees Knees' as the building they are opening in used be a nightclub back in the day called 'The Bees Knees'.

Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey performed there.

Opening and closing times have not yet been confirmed but people can keep updated on The Bees Knees at Taylor’s Facebook page.
