Bolton is thriving in current market conditions says one estate agent after it was revealed as in the top 10 in the country for number of homes increasing in value by five  per cent.

The borough is the sixth in the country for homes jumping in value - whereas nationally property values have fallen.

According to Zoopla, the online property site, nearly a third of homes on the market jumped by five per cent or more in 2023.

Estate Agent, Andrew Cardwell said: “It is lovely to see Bolton performing so well in comparison to so many other cities and towns across the United Kingdom in this investigation.

“The results show that 31.1 per cent of homes in Bolton increased in value by five per cent or more is really quite notable, particularly in the context the last 12 months, and just prior.

“In which we have all faced a cost of living crises, high inflation levels, continuing interest rate increases and the backdrop of the Truss and Kwarteng Mini Budget in September 2023 which sparked market turmoil.

“Many industry commentators were predicting substantial falls in property values across all areas of the UK during 2023.”

The Bolton News:

Andrew says it is not surprising as Bolton  is attractive to buyers with the property market in constant demand.

This may also be as people are looking to move away from cities and into towns were houses are cheaper.

Andrew said: “It is an indication of just how strong the Bolton property market is, that whilst so many other parts of the United Kingdom have seen property values fall, Bolton has outperformed them and thrived even within such testing market conditions.

“The Bolton property market is built on particularly strong foundations that have long been popular with buyers and there is a consistent level of demand in the Bolton property market, that will be retained for long term."

Bolton also enjoys an eclectic mix of property with something suitable for any budget. But alongside this, Andrew points to the community, employment opportunities and culture in Bolton as factors as to why Bolton remains a property hub.

He said: “Bolton continues to offer superb employment opportunities, such as those created at the Logistics North development and is also at the forefront of new economies and investment, for example; a significant number of productions (TV and movies) are being recorded in our town.

“Most importantly Bolton has vibrant, welcoming communities that individuals and families alike want to live in.”
